Mandala stencils are among the most versatile designs in our library — the circular symmetry looks impressive on almost any surface and the complexity of the pattern belies how simple they are to apply. Here are our favourite mandala stencil projects.

Mandala Stencil Project Ideas

Above the Bed (Headboard Statement)

Position a large mandala stencil centred above the headboard, 15–20cm from the top of the bed. Use a spirit level to mark the exact centre point. Paint in a tone slightly darker than your wall colour for a subtle, tonal effect, or in a contrasting metallic for high impact.

Canvas Art

Paint a canvas in a solid base colour, let it dry completely, then centre a mandala stencil on it and apply a contrasting paint colour. Frame or hang unframed. Create a matching pair with two complementary colourways.

Painted Floor Medallion

Use our mandala stencil on a painted wooden floor or concrete surface for a boho-style floor medallion. Scale up to 60–90cm diameter for a rug-like centrepiece in a living room or bedroom. Use floor paint for durability and seal with clear floor varnish.

Furniture Upcycling

Centre a mandala on a tabletop, wooden tray or drawer front. Apply with chalk paint for a vintage finish. Seal with wax or varnish for protection.

Finding the exact centre: fold your stencil in quarters and mark the fold intersection point. Use a pencil cross on your surface at the planned placement point, then align the stencil's centre mark to the cross.
