The breast patch is cut as a separate shape, so you can paint the body one colour and the breast another, or simply leave the breast as bare surface for a two-tone effect in a single pass. Do the eye last with the driest brush you have, because a flooded eye turns a cheerful robin into a startled one. The holly and berries beneath him are optional — mask them off and you have a plain garden robin that works all year round.
