The legs are the fragile part of the cut — do them last and work from the body outward so each leg is supported while you cut the next. When painting, hold the stencil down firmly along the legs with your free hand; they are long thin flaps and they will lift. Scattering several at three different sizes looks far better than one large spider on its own.

Yes, that is exactly what it was drawn for. Paint the web first, let it dry, then place spiders on and around it.
How small can I print it?
Down to about 20% of A4 for party bags and jar labels — the shape is distinctive enough to survive.
Will the legs tear when cutting?
Only if you cut them first. Leave them until the body is done, use a fresh blade, and support each leg as you go.
